Claire Kwon is currently a Junior at Northwestern University studying Theatre, Musical Theatre, International Studies, and Integrated Marketing Communications. She is honored and thrilled to be given Honorable Mention for the Rebecca Luker Scholarship. Some of her favorite roles include Small Alison (FUN HOME, Northwestern), #13 (THE WOLVES, Northwestern), Rosa Bud (THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD, Bergen Academies), Lee Tai-young (THE WAA-MU SHOW: FOR THE RECORD), and Megan (SOCIAL STUDIES, NYTF). She is a proud member of THUNK A Cappella (President, Producer), Steam Heat Dance Company, and The Bix Musical Improv group. She also enjoys working as a Voiceover Artist, recording for companies like LG. In addition to performance, Claire believes strongly in contributing to long-lasting, meaningful communities, both inside and outside of the theater. She works as a Box Office Aide and Assistant House Manager at Northwestern's theaters and has served as a Teaching Artist and Educator for Northwestern's award-winning TYA (Theatre for Young Audiences) organization, Purple Crayon Players. She also has a strong passion for prison education, serving on the Public Relations committee for UPEP (Undergraduate Prison Education Partnership). Finally, she is involved in National Asian Artists Project (NAAP), recently serving as an assistant teacher, co-choreographer, and production assistant. More than anything, she loves collaborating with others to create meaningful art, tell soul-stirring stories and uplift unique (and often unheard) voices. She is so excited to learn and grow from all the incredible artists teaching at the Broadway Mentors Program.
